Been a busy few months!

it has been a busy few months, and I wanted to share with you what I have been up to! I have been busy with the under 5's in Windsor busy getting messy and creative in a very free way! I have been into a local school with my book, A children's Illustrated guide and I am working on the second edition for sale in shops, There have been mingling and networking with other artists, at 14/4 Literary dinner, and Marlow arts collective, and I took part in Cookham on canvas. I have been developing a new range of paintings, and completing commissions. And of course all the way through I have had my camera with me, because if i dont want to paint it, I usually want to photograph it!  It has all been so very exciting! and it is only June! :)

address unknown

I entered 3 photos to an amazing exhibition held in Windsor, called address unknown, basically the idea is to get photographers, amateur and professional around the world to enter a photo from 2012, so the exhibition displays the world through our eyes in 2012. It is a fantastic exhibition. I have visited it at least 4 times this week, and each time I have seen something different. I have taken children, my nephews and the children I nanny for to see the exhibition, and they have loved it too, seeing totally different things to what I would have spotted! Today I went alone so I had time to take in the atmosphere and look again at the wonderful photographs displayed in such an interesting way. I had spotted a photograph from the first time I walked in to the exhibition last Saturday, and today I brought it. It is a stunning photograph of a child looking straight at the camera, but even more impact was made when Mel (who has curated this fantastic exhibition) revealed who the photo was buy and the title, well, to say we were speechless and full of emotion is an understatement. The photo was titled "for Sale" as you can see the photo is of a beautiful child, who possibly comes from a country less fortunate than our own, and where the possibility that children are sold is even unthinkable. Now anyone who really knows me knows, not only do I work with children, I am passionate about children's welfare, and fighting for the rights of the child. So this photograph touched me so deeply, and even more so when it was full revealed. It is amazing how touched we can be by an image, which is now already framed and has a home.
